IlluminationsThe Blackpool Illuminations – September 1st – November 5th 2008, are a not-to-be-missed spectacle that keeps the seaside resort buzzing well into the winter season. The lights, which began back in 1879 with only eight electric arc lamps, now span six miles and attract visitors from far and wide. Modern fibre optics, lasers and LED technologies create breathtaking displays. You can choose to take a tram along the seafront for a grandstand view, a leisurely seafront walk, or drive along the illuminations in your car. |
